Coding and Robotics

Young Engineering Minds® provides project-based programs designed to teach principles and methods of engineering to young minds.  Our curriculum is created by Professional Engineers to incorporate Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math principles into our lessons in a FUN and challenging way.

The coding and robotics program engages children ages 6 to 12 in hands-on engineering projects where students design, build and learn the fundamentals of engineering on a weekly basis.

PROGRAM DATES: FEBRUARY 2, 2018 - MARCH 9, 2018 EVERY FRIDAY

PROGRAM HOURS: 4:30pm - 6:00pm

PROGRAM COST: $120/ 6 WEEKS includes indoor playground play. Discounted sibling play rates available.

PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED

All activities utilize the following education approach to learning:

·         Students brainstorm and develop solutions to a given problem. Students utilize this phase to learn about key engineering concepts.

·         Students are given step-by-step guides to building basic models and programs and then are asked to create an iteration of that model that provides a solution to a challenge.

·         Students observe their model, utilize criteria for testing, and record how well their solution works.

·         Students collect observations and evaluate their solution’s effectiveness, sharing results with their peers and further troubleshooting their creations if needed.

Our goal is to have our students foster a greater appreciation of how things work, and encourage the qualities of inquisitiveness, self-reliance, and self-confidence.
